About Us

Redwood Christian Park has a solid foundation of Christian camping. The men and women who founded RCP had a rich heritage of programming their own family camps that they held at Christian camps in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Inspired by the spiritual results of their Christian camp ministry, especially in one of the most beautiful settings in the world, these spiritual entrepreneurs bought their own property and began operating their family camps at the RCP site in 1950. Since that summer, RCP has had a dynamic history serving tens of thousands of guests who have connected with God in this special outdoor setting.

RCP has a divine purpose that was posted as a dedication on a sign at the center of camp many decades ago. This is taken from that dedication: RCP is to be a place for worship and prayer amid the beauty of verdant trees that will point our generation to the everlasting truth of God’s Word and to the Way of Life found by faith in Christ Jesus, the Son of God and Savior of Mankind.

As well as a solid foundation, a rich heritage, a dynamic history and a divine purpose, RCP has a prosperous future. RCP’s leadership believes the promise of God in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
