Peace.
That’s the word Kinley uses to describe her first moments at Redwood Christian Park (RCP). She stepped out of her car, walked through the redwoods, and realized immediately that this place was different and that her heart finally felt at rest.

Kinley had just begun her new role as Chief Financial Officer at RCP, something she didn’t fully realize would become a turning point in her life. “Deep down, I knew I wanted to work in a place like this,” she says. “There’s so much joy here, and it feels so alive — especially when there are a lot of people here. It really does feel like you’re working in God’s creation.”

But what Kinley didn’t expect was how profoundly RCP would impact her mental health.

“I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole life,” she shares. “It’s come and gone in waves. A few years ago, I fell into anxiety again, along with depression.” It was a season marked by heaviness, uncertainty, and the slow, exhausting work of trying to feel like herself again.

Then came her first day at RCP.

“As soon as I walked in, I felt so much peace,” Kinley remembers. “I could sense God moving in this place when I first came here.” 

“Ever since then, I feel like my anxiety and depression have basically gone back down to zero.”
RCP didn’t just give her a job, it gave her space to breathe, heal, and feel like herself again.

Over the past year, RCP has become more than a workplace for Kinley. It’s become a place where she has experienced God’s presence in a way she never expected. “This place is very special.”

Today, she hopes the same peace she found will reach every person who steps onto the grounds. “I hope people grow closer to God when they come here,” she says. “And I hope they feel refreshed when they leave.”

Kinley’s story is a reminder of what makes RCP unique: it’s not just a camp, it’s a place where people are rested, connected and prepared for the missions to which they are called.
