What is it Family Camp all about?

Nestled beneath the majestic canopy of the Santa Cruz redwoods, Family Camp at Redwood Christian Park offers a transformative week designed to help families unwind, grow closer together, and deepen their faith.

New guests can look forward to an intentional balance of restful sanctuary and vibrant community, featuring powerful worship services, inspiring keynote speakers, and age-tailored kids and youth programs alongside high-energy games and memory-making recreation.

Far from the distractions of daily routine, this week provides the peaceful space needed to truly recharge physical and spiritual batteries, reconnect with loved ones in creation, and realign your heart with God’s purpose—leaving your entire family refreshed, unified, and fully prepared for the missions and callings waiting for you back home.

Our 2027 Theme: Forgotten Kingdom

At Redwood Christian Park’s 2027 Family Camp, we invite you to uncover a story of restoration through our theme, Forgotten Kingdom: Hope Buried in the Ruins. Rooted in Colossians 1:13—“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves”—this week is designed to remind every family that no one is ever too far from God’s reach. No matter how deep the rubble of life may feel, how distant He seems, or how overgrown the path has become, you are never forgotten. God patiently peels back the layers of our pain, brokenness, and forgetfulness to reveal a relentless love that has been there all along, warmly welcoming us back into His everlasting Kingdom.

Meet Our 2027 Speakers:

About Jim Cecy: Evening Speaker

Dr. Jim Cecy has dedicated more than 50 years to Christian ministry, sharing his passion for God’s Word and equipping believers to grow in their faith. A U.S. Navy veteran, Jim came to know Jesus Christ in 1971 and answered God’s call to ministry shortly thereafter. He served for 29 years as Senior Pastor of Campus Bible Church in Fresno, California, where he continues to serve as Pastor Emeritus.

As founder and president of JARON Ministries International, Jim has traveled extensively, teaching and training pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders across five continents. Known for his engaging teaching style, biblical insight, and contagious enthusiasm for Scripture, Jim continues to encourage and equip believers around the world.

About Josh Lane: Morning Bible Teacher

Josh Lane, a native of Sacramento, California, has been a follower of Jesus Christ since the age of 7. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he felt called to serve in ministry and worked as a youth pastor in Atwater and Santa Rosa, California, for several years. In 2005, he returned to his hometown to serve as Lead Pastor of Northside Church in Natomas, where he found a particular passion for discipleship, biblical truth, and connecting people to God and each other. In 2022, he became Regional Executive Director for Venture Church Network of Northern California/Nevada. He holds a BA in Communications from California State University, Sacramento, and an MDiv and DMin from Western Seminary. Joshua is married to his wonderful wife, Jenny, a first-grade teacher, and enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and building relationships within his community.

Victor Hamilton: Morning Bible Teacher

Victor Hamilton was professor of Old Testament at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky from 1971 to 2007, with five years beyond that for research, writing and publishing. He has a BA from Houghton College in New York State, a BD and ThM from Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and an MA and PhD from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. His special area of interests in the classroom were the Pentateuch, Jeremiah, Preaching from the Old Testament and Old Testament Theology.

He has had published: (1) Handbook on the Pentateuch; (2) a two-volumes commentary,The  Book of Genesis in the multi-volume New International Commentary on the Old Testament;(3) Handbook on the Historical Books; and (4) Exodus: An Exegetical Commentary. These volumes have been translated into various languages, including Russian, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. Vic has served on two Bible translation teams, first the New King James Version (NKJV) and more recently the New Living Translation (NLT). Additionally, he has contributed to many other works such as The Wesley Bible: A Personal Study Bible for HolyLiving; The Quest Study Bible, the Asbury Bible Commentary and the NLT Study Bible.

Vic has had the privilege of preaching and teaching in churches, retreats, camp meetings and conferences throughout the US and Canada, as well as internationally (Korea, Japan, China, Russia and Jamaica). One of Vic’s highest joys was to preach in the chapel service in Hughes Auditorium on the campus of Asbury University at least once a semester and often more than once for 40 consecutive years (1972-2012).

Vic and his late wife, Shirley, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in mid-September of 2025. But in late January of 2026 heaven came calling for Shirley after her lengthy illness. We have four adult children, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren (with more to come?). Both of us were born in Toronto, and lived in the city through High School and a bit beyond, and were married there. We now have dual citizenship. Vic is ordained in the Central Canada District of the Wesleyan Church. They have attended the Wilmore Free Methodist Church in Kentucky for the last few decades.
