Erin was first brought to camp as an infant in 1992. She grew up coming to what is now July Family Camp and RCP youth camps, and worked guest services with summer staff in 2011.She is deeply committed to helping camp continue to be a sacred place where the Spirit moves and people’s lives are transformed by biblical teaching, diverse forms of worship, and fellowship with others.
As a board leadership consultant, Erin empowers public and nonprofit boards to move from conflict to connected action. Her research focuses on how board effectiveness aligns with organizational outcomes.
She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW-Madison, a Master of Arts in the Humanities from the University of Chicago, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, German, and organizational communication from the University of Montana. She currently serves on the Diocesan Council for the Episcopal Church in Wyoming. Erin is a past-president of the Madison Breakfast Rotary Club and a former council chair for the First United Methodist Church in Madison, Wisconsin.
At July Family Camp, you’ll find her leading Morning Watch in Meadowview, helping her husband Rafael with afternoon recreation, and performing at the talent show with RCPella!

Emily lives in Clovis, Ca with her husband Sean, and kids Skylar and Ethan. Emily first attended RCP in the 1990s at family camp. The family first started in the Family Camp 3 group and would later call the Family Camp 2 group home.
Throughout her years, Emily had the privilege of being a staff kid member to help with all camps, later attending all junior, junior high, and high school camps, as well as being summer staff as a camp nurse.
Later, Emily also started to attend women’s retreat. As life went on, Emily introduced her then-boyfriend to Family Camp, and then their children as they joined the family. It is the one trip that the family looks forward to every year to renew our souls, visit with camp family, and still serve as camp nurse in collaboration with her husband.
Currently, Emily serves as the Nurse Manager at Valley Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The family attends Cross City Church in Fresno, CA.

Dave Gaul and his wife Rebecca first came to RCP in 1992, the same year they moved from Sacramento to San Jose with their three children (Andrew, Daniel, and Leah). The entire clan attended Family Camp 1 for ~ 10 years, and now have attended Family Camp 2 for 20+ years. Even when they lived in London from 1997-1999, they flew back to make sure they stayed connected to their RCP family. All three children have served multiple times on summer staff, with responsibilities ranging from ropes course to lifeguard to sound technician to housekeeping.
RCP is in their family’s DNA, and they are blessed to now have three grandsons who are already equally passionate about many family camps to come. Dave accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on January 26, 1984, and they have attended non-denominational fellowships ever since. We are currently fellowshipping at the Cross Worship Center in San Jose.
Dave graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting in 1984 from California State University, Sacramento. He graduated with a M.S. in Taxation in 1994 from California State University, Hayward. He obtained his CPA license in California in 1990 and is still actively licensed. He has worked in government service for seven years, in two large public accounting firms for 10 years, and for 20 years in senior Finance roles for the three publicly traded multinational corporations based in the Bay Area. He has recently obtained his license as a California Professional Fiduciary and has done private trust administration for 12 years.
Dave has been both humbled and privileged to serve on the RCP board for the past nine years. He is currently acting as CFO and Treasurer to keep track of RCP’s finances and to provide the full board with information to make wise, stewardship-based decisions. Dave is passionate to keep the legacy of RCP thriving for generations to come – to build on the shoulders of the founders and the many leaders God has called to RCP – that lives will be restored and that Jesus will be proclaimed in RCP’s teaching, worship and ministry.

Melissa and her husband have attended Family Camp 3 since 2009. They and their three children, Hudson, Taylor and Roselyn, keep coming back for the fantastic Bible teaching, the time with family (Melissa’s parents as well as Scott’s sister’s family plus his mother and her husband come yearly as well), the retreat from the chaos of life at home and the time they can spend reflecting on what He has done in their lives and what He may be calling them to do in the future. Oh…they also can’t stay away from those caramelitas…
Melissa holds two Bachelor of Art degrees from UC Davis with one in Spanish and one in Psychology. She earned her bilingual credential from Stanislaus State in 2002. She taught elementary school until the birth of their first child in 2006. Since then, Melissa has been involved with volunteering in the classroom, on PTA at various different schools, in women’s ministry at her church, CrossPoint Community Church in Modesto.
She is excited to see what God has in store for RCP, anticipating how He is going to use RCP to impact the next generation of campers and blessed to be a part of the journey.

As the family continued to grow with the birth of their daughter Brittany, they ensured that even while stationed overseas in Japan for 3 years that RCP was a MUST for them all to stay grounded and connected to their roots and surrogate Camp Family. Whether busy with a Navy career or not, they always made it to camp as this was the place where they could take a break from the outside world for a week. They could let the kids run loose without concern as this was a protected piece of the redwood forest that God had set aside for reunion, retreat and restoration.
In 1992, Gib was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors. That same year, Family Camps were expanded to June, July and August (now Family Camps 1, 2, and 3) and the friendly rivalries between the camps began. Gib served as the Assistant Dean for Family Camp 2, and was then asked to serve as Acting Dean for Family Camp 2 for three years while the Board completed a search for a new Dean in the mid-1990s. During this time a fourth child was added to the family when our son was born in 1994.
Gib was elected Chairman of the Board in 2019. In 2020, he assumed the role of Acting Executive Director and CEO of RCP after serving CEO Jim Martin retired and the COVID pandemic was at its peak. Gib’s adult children, their spouses, and all seven grandchildren have all attended Family Camp 2, and this has become an integral part of family life for everyone as the family continues to grow.
Gib’s grandkids want to come to RCP today as much as his children did in 1982 when the family started making camp a part of their life.

In 2001, he graduated with a B.A. in Christian Ministries from Asbury University. For his Senior project Scott worked as an Intern at RCP for Sharon Fry. It was that year he dressed up as Buzz Lightyear (as a part of the camp theme) and sang “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”. Many campers still remember that performance and still fondly refer to him as Buzz. Rumor has it, he still has the costume and… will dress up for special events or Halloween parties. *Singing not included.
After graduating Scott became a Regional Manager with AT&T Wireless in the central Valley. After 6 years GOD began leading Scott back to his hometown Orangevale. He was offered a Management position with Starbucks in 2006. He met Erika in October 2006. They started dating in February 2007 and a few month later Scott invited Erika to RCP.
They were engaged in December and married May 2008. RCP has been an important part of their lives from the foundation of their relationship. Scott owns and operates a Financial Services Firm where he has been helping his clients reach their financial goals for the past 13 years. He qualifies for the Million Dollar Round Table (a coveted industry achievement) every year and ranks amongst the top 1% of producers in the nation.
Scott is a 3rd generation RCP board member (preceded by his father Mike Goodyear and his late grandfather Ted Gerbaz). Growing up, Redwood Christian Park was a non-negotiable part of his summer including attending youth camps, family camps and helping as a camp counselor for multiple years. For the past 4 years, Scott helped assist Family Camp 1 as the associate Dean and then in 2021 became the lead.
Whether in his personal life, work life or RCP life, Scott loves to be creative, share his joy for life and solve problems that may arise. 2021 was a great year for him to use his talents and navigate Family Camp 1 though a unique set of circumstances.
RCP was ordained by the Almighty GOD. HE uses men and women with their God given skills and gifts to steward the sacred grounds at 15000 Two Bar Road to be a place for GOD’s people to encounter HIM. Scott desires to be used by GOD in this endeavor. As a new board member Scott is excited to bring vibrant and passionate ideas, listen to the decades of experience that the board has and discern what GOD has in store for the future of Redwood Christian Park.

He started attending FUMC Yuba City when he returned from camp, and that’s where he met his would-be wife, though it would take her a few more years to catch on. During high school, Brent attended every RCP cam and retreat he could, including Holiday Happenings, a retreat that was from Dec 29th to Jan 2nd.
In 1990, Brent was invited to what was then called August Family Camp (now Family Camp 3). He and his family were invited by some dear friends. Since then, he and his family have not missed a single Family Camp 3.
Brent has served in many capacities at family camp, including recreation director and Morning Watch devotional leader.
He previously served on the board in the 1990s and feels blessed to be serving again in this new century. RCP has changed his life in miraculous ways, and his prayer is that it will continue change lives for generations to come as we share the love of Christ.

Martha met Mark while attending Biola University in Southern California. They have been married for 35 years. She is currently the Women’s Ministry Director for Grace Fellowship Church in Jackson, CA where her husband serves as Lead Pastor. They have two beautiful adult daughters – Morgan & Makenzie.
Martha has a real passion for ministry. The experiences God has given her through the years in working with people have taught her to think the best of others by giving grace and love first. Her belief is that it is important to have vision and to see the big picture. Even though she is a detailed person, the small things count too. Martha is a good listener and positive person and she believes that everyone should have an opportunity to share their heart. Then decisions can be made through teamwork. Serving as a trustee since 2012 has truly been an honor and priviledge and she is excited for all that God has in store at RCP.

Seeing the many lives changed, grass-roots ministries launched to serve all over the world, countless family memories made, and how God’s hands have shaped the physical and spiritual landscape of RCP over the decades, have all led Grant to follow His call and serve wherever he can to help continue this wonderful Camp tradition for generations to come.
His move to Georgia in 2022 even further cemented his love for the West Coast, and he vows to return every year for as long as possible.
